
Greenspace Eastern Crew Leader

Based in Kaipara, this role supports greenspace maintenance across the wider region. We welcome applications from candidates living locally or in surrounding communities.
This position would best suit persons located in the eastern (Mangawhai) Kaipara region.

As our Greenspace Eastern Crew Leader, you’ll lead a hands-on team delivering mowing, horticulture, vegetation control, and general greenspace maintenance services across parks, reserves, and community spaces. This is a practical leadership role where you’ll lead from the front while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting a crew across mowing, horticulture, and vegetation activities
- Planning, prioritising, and allocating daily work programmes
- Monitoring seasonal demands and adjusting workloads where required
- Carrying out mowing, vegetation control, and general maintenance tasks
- Completing daily job records, plant inspections, and data entry using handheld devices
- Identifying and reporting maintenance issues across parks and reserves
- Ensuring work meets quality, safety, and client expectations
- Building positive relationships with the public, clients, and stakeholders

You’ll be someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes initiative, and can confidently lead a team in a practical environment.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience in horticulture, mowing, landscaping, vegetation control, or similar outdoor work
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience (preferred but not essential)
- A Full Class 1 driver’s licence
- Confidence using handheld devices and completing job documentation
- Strong planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work independently and motivate others
- A proactive attitude with a strong focus on quality outcomes
- A commitment to health, safety, and working responsibly
- Reliability, teamwork, and a positive approach
