AVP, Client Solutions, Savings & Retirement, Asia (SG)

The Role

**Re is expanding its footprint and delivering growth in Japan, Hong Kong, and the wider Asia region, as a key strategic objective of its Savings & Retirement (S&R) line of business.

The successful candidate will combine technical ability and creativity with strong interpersonal and communication skills and take on a leading role in the achievement of ambitious objectives for the Asia region.

As AVP, Client Solutions for S&R in the Asia region, the hire will lead deal teams to pursue and execute deals, expand client relationships across designated Asia countries, and seek innovative solutions to complex problems across asset-intensive and longevity reinsurance structures.

The role plays a crucial part in the design, development and execution of the longer-term strategic

objectives both in Asia and as part of the wider S&R team, contributing to ** Re's enterprise

strategy through to 2030 ("Strategy Next").

The role reports into VP, Client Solutions, Asia (Dominic Lim, Singapore) and is supported by a Manager, Client Solutions to deliver on its objectives and accountabilities.

The hire is expected to contribute to developing a culture across S&R that aligns with ** Re's target culture and behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

Client Management

• Build strong working relationships with key day-to-day and senior management contacts across

clients, consultants, brokers, law firms and banks, demonstrating technical visibility personally and

on behalf of ** Re.

• Demonstrate clear appreciation of client needs, including technical understanding of business,

financial and regulatory environment. Tailor bespoke approaches accordingly.

• Maintain cultural alignment in approach to client management, acting as partners not suppliers,

exercising pragmatism, being creative and solution-driven in meeting client needs / objectives.

• Ensure regular communication is kept open with key contacts through regular catch-ups and

multi-disciplinary meetings as necessary.

• Fulfil basic functions of client management, including effective preparation and follow-up,

effective chairing of meetings, and collaboration with team members to ensure consistency of

approach across markets.

Quote Delivery & Structuring

• Ultimate accountability for quote delivery, supporting Manager, Client Solutions and Client

Support Manager(s) in day-to-day quote engagement, design of commercial terms, internal

stakeholder management and managing governance processes.

• Adopt and promote a solution mindset to commercial problems, co-ordinating input from

subject-matter experts with in-depth knowledge of client needs to solve complex propositional

challenges.

• Possess strong technical understanding of underlying reinsurance products, enabling clients'

meaning and capital agenda, to better guide deal teams through the quote process.

• Active involvement in Pricing sign-off process, including input of wider market context and

providing constructive challenge.

• Work alongside Client Solutions and Pricing representatives from the wider S&R; business to

manage deal pipeline and resourcing decisions.

• Lead contractual reviewing, timely drafting and negotiation as the subject-matter expert in

deal specifics, client specifics and key commercial terms.

• Demonstrate broad understanding across a wide range of fields, including actuarial liabilities,

ALM, corporate finance, investments, legal and tax.

Strategy

• Key role in supporting the VP, Client Solutions in designing, developing and executing the

strategy for asset-intensive and longevity-only reinsurance in the Asia market.

• Continually develop Asia Client Networking strategy for designated countries, ensuring key client

stakeholders across all levels maintain strong connections with relevant individuals at ** Re.

• Continually demonstrate strong business acumen, while not compromising on risk management

practices of ** Re.

• Support wider efforts within Line of Business to deliver on S&R; workstreams as part of Pacific

Life Re's enterprise strategic objectives over the 2025-2030 timeframe (Strategy Next).

Team Development / Management

• Line-management responsibility for Manager, Client Solutions — development and wellbeing

through managing workload, exposure to stretching tasks and busying day-to-day responsibilities.

• Show clear ownership behaviour on all key responsibilities, including that of Managers, and

continuously upskill Managers to support team development.

• Lateral information sharing and updating across the S&R; peer group with benefits of markets,

products, responsibilities and skillsets, providing significant opportunities for growth individually

and as a team.

• Support the quote team (which includes Manager and Client Pricing), giving exposure to wider

deal strategy and how deals fit into the bigger picture both internally and externally; generously

share market knowledge and provide constructive challenge.

Qualifications & Expertise

Essential

• Strong Asia + reinsurance experience (life reinsurance, life consultancy, investment banking

or brokerage linked to the Asia market). This is the key non-negotiable.

• Technically strong — able to take quotes / proposals apart, understand actuarial / capital

frameworks, and structure reinsurance solutions.

• Structurer-orientation rather than pure BD — the role is client-facing but the technical work is

the core, not the relationship lead alone.

• Strong understanding of the technical basis of life insurance and reinsurance business,

including ALM, capital frameworks and underlying products, with a proven ability to

understand and question pricing and / or capital bases.

• Strong project and stakeholder management skills.

• Excellent communication skills and track record of building strong working relationships with

internal and external stakeholders.

• Interpersonal leadership, managerial and influencing skills with an ability to operate at all levels.

• Highly analytical, with sound judgment and excellent organisational skills.

• Singapore-based, or willing to relocate to Singapore.

Highly Preferred

• Experience in asset-intensive business and the associated structuring frameworks.

• Experience in Longevity (re)insurance.

• Experience in financial reinsurance / capital solutions (treaty design, capital relief / IFRS17

stabilisation structures).

Acceptable (broader candidate pool)

• Candidates from traditional life insurance backgrounds, provided they are technically strong

and have demonstrable structuring / capital-thinking depth (e.g. product pricing modelling, ALM,

capital framework work, treaty design exposure on the cedent side).

Not Required

• Specific language abilities — English working proficiency is sufficient. Japanese, Mandarin,

Korean are welcome but not required for this role.

Compensation & Logistics

• Location: Singapore (hybrid, full-time)

• Base salary: Open to market — candidate-led expectation. Singapore-band AVP, S&R; Client

Solutions.

• Living allowance: Standard ** Re Singapore package (per role / level).

• Bonus: Standard ** Re Singapore bonus structure.

• LTIP: Eligible per ** Re standard plan.
