Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
As Laboratory Technician, you will provide testing and technical support services for projects throughout the North Island. You will ensure the integrity of the construction materials used by operational teams by testing products such as asphalt, construction aggregates, and soils to ensure quality, industry standards and customer specifications are being met.
This role offers plenty of variety with testing completed both in the laboratory and in the field, this is great opportunity to work in different locations and gain exposure to different teams within the industry.
Flexibility to work a rotational nightshift and weekend roster is a requirement for this role where you will be onsite with our Asphalt teams conducting the necessary testing while they complete the required work outside of normal working hours.
Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills
As the successful candidate for this role, ideally you will possess:
- A Full NZ Class 1 driver’s licence
- Testing experience, preferably in the civil engineering field, both in the laboratory and field-based is preferred but not essential
- Physically fit with ability to comfortably lift 20kgs
- A strong attention to detail with solid MS Excel & Word skills
- The ability to work as part of a team and with some leadership experience
- Excellent communication skills
You will also need some flexibility to work at night and during weekends when the work demands. You will be motivated to take on several different tasks for different people and enjoy solving problems and delivering outcomes to customers. The current team enjoy working together and having fun whilst getting the job done!
