The Transport Planner role:
Reporting directly to the UK Transport Planning Manager, you’ll play a key role in driving efficiency and delivering results in a fast-paced, competitive market. Using our advanced Transport Management System (TMS), you’ll plan and optimise transport operations across all UK sites, ensuring performance targets and budgets are met.
This is a fantastic chance to gain exposure to the full breadth of UK transport planning, develop your expertise, and make a real impact on our national operations.
What You’ll Do:
- Review and validate transport plans (TMS), making improvements to increase efficiency and minimise spend
- Pre-plan transport volumes, reviewing order screens, pulling forward deliveries, and realigning routes to maximise vehicle utilisation and reduce carrier costs
- Monitor and control transport costs, record carrier expenditure, and implement cost-saving initiatives
- Manage freight settlement, including invoice validation, handling queries, and approving or rejecting discrepancies
- Support and implement systematic improvements to enhance the effectiveness of transport planning
- Arrange and manage haulage operations, including relationships with assigned hauliers across operational sites
- Play an active role in the adoption and optimisation of TMS across the UK in a cost-efficient and logical way

What We’re Looking For:
- Transport experience preferred but not essential
- Must be self-motivated, eager to learn, and adaptable
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail required
- Flexible with working hours/shifts
- Demonstrates high standards in all tasks and responsibilities
- Strong customer service skills essential
