The Senior QA Engineer Role:

Work collaboratively with a talented team of engineers to assess and enhance the quality of Actionstep’s products and platforms through robust and thoughtful software testing practices.

You'll play a key role in identifying issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring every feature functions as intended. By partnering closely with our project delivery teams, you’ll help ensure that all project deliverables not only meet technical and functional requirements, but also exceed expectations in terms of usability, reliability, and overall user experience.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

Software Quality Assurance:

•    Apply real-world user perspective to evaluate product fitness.
•    Define test objectives and quality criteria based on stakeholder needs.
•    Actively participate in SCRUM ceremonies to understand features and identify risks.
•    Analyse requirements to understand customer needs and system functionality.
•    Develop test scenarios aligned with objectives and requirements.
•    Assess product quality, including performance and security.
•    Create and maintain test documentation aligned with Actionstep’s goals.
•    Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing.
•    Support squad efforts to deliver platform and product objectives.
•    Collaborate with engineers to broaden technical knowledge.
•    Complete assigned testing tasks and contribute to continuous improvement.
•    Support automation efforts and give feedback on QA approaches.

Relationship Management:

•    Build strong internal and external working relationships.
•    Contribute constructively to meetings with customers, partners, and teams.

Professional Development:

•    Proactively drive personal and professional growth.
•    Act as a thought leader within Actionstep and the broader industry.
•    Stay current with industry best practices and tools.

Continuous Improvement:

•    Identify and participate in improving QA processes.

•    Take responsibility for health and safety by following procedures and reporting issues.

About You:

Essential:

•    Relevant tertiary qualification.
•    5+ years of professional software testing experience.
•    Frontend Automation – Strong experience using Playwright or Selenium
•    Backend Automation – Strong experience in API automation and Microservices
•    Strong programming experience and knowledge in Typescript, JavaScript
•    Agile environment experience.
•    Skilled in test planning, reporting, and execution.
•    Proficient in testing APIs, web apps, and message queuing systems.
•    Experience in bug management and automation (frontend and APIs).

Desirable:

•    SaaS software testing experience.
•    API testing tools (e.g., Postman).
•    Familiarity with CI/CD and GitHub.
•    Frontend automation (e.g., Playwright).
•    TypeScript and BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber).
•    Experience testing across frontend, backend, and APIs.
