
Social Worker - Alexandra
Due to one of our kaimahi moving locations to another site, we have a vacancy for a qualified, registered, and experienced social worker who wants to make a real difference by putting tamariki and rangatahi at the heart of everything they do.
Our team of practitioners are a diverse and innovative group of practitioners who work closely together and share our Oranga Tamariki values. As part of our team, you will spend your day meeting with tamariki, rangatahi and their family and whānau listening to what they have to say, completing assessments of need, participating in hui-ā-whānau and family group conferences to support the development of intervention plans, and partnering with other agencies, community groups and local iwi in a creative manner to improve outcomes. To be successful in this rewarding position, you will need: * Full NZ driver’s licence with no restrictions. * Full registration with New Zealand’s Social Work Registration Board (SWRB) * A social worker qualification recognised by the SWRB. * A positive attitude and the ability to influence and empower tamariki and rangatahi and their family and whānau. * Empathy, patience, ability to see past what someone may be struggling with, and a belief in the capacity for change. * Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt to individual needs. * Strong analytical skills and an ability to assess safety and risks. * Great written skills as you will need to prepare social work plans, assessments of need, reports for the Family Court, structured case notes and other relevant documents.
