Are you a registered Psychologist with experience working with adults who present with complex clinical needs?

We welcome applications from psychologists with experience in areas such as mental health, trauma, family violence, addictions, forensic, correctional, or other complex clinical settings. Experience working with harmful sexual behaviours is advantageous but not essential – we are looking for clinicians with strong core skills, professional curiosity, and the ability to learn and grow within a specialist area of practice.

What you'll do

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, including risk assessment and formulation, and develop tailored intervention plans
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and (where appropriate) whānau-inclusive therapy
  • Work collaboratively with clients, whānau, and external professionals to support a coordinated, multi-agency approach
  • Manage complex and high-risk clinical presentations, including ongoing risk monitoring and safety planning
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and actively participate in supervision, peer review, and clinical governance processes

What we're about
We're a leading provider of therapeutic services in Te Waipounamu, grounded in the Te Ao Māori values of manaakitanga, rangatiratanga, kotahitanga and whanaungatanga. We are committed to innovation, collaboration and community wellbeing.

What you bring

  • A recognised qualification in psychology and current professional registration in New Zealand (e.g. NZ Psychologists Board)
  • Demonstrated experience working with adults in a clinical setting, including complex presentations such as trauma, mental health challenges, addictions, family violence, forensic or other high needs populations.
  • An interest in developing expertise in the assessment and treatment of harmful sexual behaviours, with the capacity and willingness to learn within a specialist area of practice.
  • Experience delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions in individual and/or group settings.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment, risk management, safeguarding, and professional boundaries
  • Well-developed clinical formulation and therapeutic intervention skills
  • Cultural competence, including the ability to engage effectively with diverse communities and work in culturally responsive ways

We recognise that expertise in harmful sexual behaviour intervention is a specialised area. If you bring strong clinical foundations, sound risk assessment skills, and a commitment to professional development, we will support you to build the specialist knowledge required for the role.

What we offer

  • A supportive and collaborative team culture
  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development and training
  • A competitive salary ($87,747 - $103,231) and benefits package, including healthcare, generous leave and wellbeing support
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our clients their whānau and communities

We recognise that not every candidate will bring direct experience working with harmful sexual behaviours. If you have strong clinical fundamentals, experience working with complex presentations, and the motivation to develop specialist skills, we'd love to hear from you.

We know great people grow into great roles, and we're committed to supporting the ongoing development of our clinicians.

We are unable to consider applicants who require visa sponsorship for this role.

Please apply online by 4th September 2026
