Requirements:
- This role requires full-time office presence in Cape Town.
- 6–9 years of relevant experience in embedded systems development
- Strong proficiency in C and C++ for embedded or low-level systems
- Experience designing and integrating firmware with RTOS environments
- Deep knowledge of microcontroller and microprocessor architectures
- Experience with hardware-software integration and board bring-up
- Experience with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, or Ethernet
- Experience using hardware debugging tools such as JTAG, oscilloscopes, or logic analysers
- Experience working in an English speaking environment
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with Linux-based embedded systems (e.g. Yocto, Buildroot)
- Experience with hardware design or PCB review collaboration
- Knowledge of assembly language for ARM or x86 architectures
- Experience with automated testing frameworks for embedded systems
- Exposure to connectivity protocols such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, or LoRa
