Requirements:
- This role follows a hybrid working model, requiring 2–3 days per week in the Cape Town office.
- 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, AI, or a related field
- Strong programming experience in Python
- Hands-on experience with web scraping tools and frameworks such as Scrapy
- Experience building and maintaining large-scale data extraction and processing pipelines
- Familiarity with AI tools and APIs such as Claude
- Experience working with unstructured or semi-structured data
Nice to have:
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
- Experience with Django or backend web frameworks
- Familiarity with Playwright or modern browser automation tools
- Experience working with the Claude API in production environments
- Exposure to scaling scraping infrastructure or distributed data systems
