
Manager/ Assistant Director, Corporate Strategy
The Corporate Strategy (CS) team leads the MND Family’s corporate strategy planning process, to ensure that our divisions and Statutory Boards (SBs) are in alignment with our long‑term goals and vision. As a member of the CS team, you will play a key role in supporting the development and execution of the Ministry’s strategy, working closely with senior management to chart out the MND Family’s strategic directions and enhance enterprise risk management and resilience plans. This role provides the selected candidate a unique opportunity to gain a helicopter view of the key priorities of the MND Family, and critical skillsets in stakeholder engagement, corporate planning, risk management and performance tracking.
What you will be working onThink of yourself as the behind‑the‑scenes navigator, ensuring the smooth flow of strategic plans and tracking their progress.
- Drive the annual MND Family corporate planning cycle. This includes planning and organising initiatives such as the annual retreat involving political office holders and senior management, workplan presentations, and shaping the agenda for the quarterly forum between the senior management in MND HQ and SBs to facilitate discussions on cross‑cutting issues.
- Develop and review MND Family’s Strategic Priorities (SPs), which guide the organisation’s shared priorities and corresponding ambitions for the next 5 to 10 years. The selected candidate will also establish a monitoring and reporting process to update senior management on the progress of the SPs’ workstreams, as well as to review and refresh the SPs/workstreams regularly to ensure they remain relevant.
- Drive MND Family’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) governance framework and resilience planning processes. This includes ensuring that robust risk identification and management practices are in place, and conducting regular reviews to strengthen our strategic resilience.
- Stakeholder Alignment. The selected candidate possesses good interpersonal and communication skills, and is able to engage relevant internal stakeholders confidently to obtain inputs and achieve alignment while appreciating the difference in perspectives and priorities. Familiarity with the MND Family’s work would be an advantage.
- Systems Thinking; Deep Critical Thinking. Able to sense‑make root causes and drivers on issues, to identify considerations, trade‑offs, and propose options or improvement areas.
- Clear and Concise Writing. Write in a clear, concise and organised manner; and tailor writing for different target audience (e.g. senior management, internal stakeholders, external agencies) and various platforms.
- Team player who can work independently with guidance; comfortable taking ownership whilst contributing to team objectives.
- Others. Preferably at least 3 years work experience, including stints in corporate strategy, enterprise risk management, or related work.
