Requirements:
- This role follows a hybrid working model, requiring 2–3 days per week in the Cape Town office.
- 6–9 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related field
- Must have hands-on experience with dbt (data build tool)
- Must have experience with Snowflake
- Must have strong SQL skills
- Experience building and maintaining data models and transformation pipelines
- Ability to work closely with data analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders
- Experience working in an English speaking environment
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Experience with data warehouse design and dimensional modelling
- Ability to write clean, well-documented, and tested SQL
- Familiarity with data quality and testing practices (e.g. dbt tests, Great Expectations)
- Collaborative mindset with cross-functional teams
Nice to have:
- Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau
- Familiarity with Python for data processing or scripting
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Prefect
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices for data pipelines
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
