Requirements:
- This role follows a hybrid working model, requiring 2–3 days per week in the Cape Town office.
- 4+ years of professional experience in data engineering, machine learning, or a related field
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with databases or data warehouses
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines for large datasets
- Hands-on experience with big data tools such as Spark, Hadoop, or Hive
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Databricks
- Exposure to machine learning frameworks and deploying or optimising models in production
Nice to have:
- Experience designing scalable data platforms
- Experience with model monitoring, experimentation, or MLOps practices
- Background in predictive modelling, analytics strategy, or advanced statistical techniques
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical initiatives
