
Traffic Management Operative - Practising
We are currently seeking qualified Traffic Controllers - TTM, TMO and STMS who hold a valid certificate in traffic management to join our client's teams in the Taranaki region. If you are safety conscious, reliable and ready to work in a fast paced on call environment, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Direct Traffic - efficiently and safely guiding vehicles and/or pedestrians using stop/slow signs, hand signals and other control devices around the work zones.
- Traffic Setup and Maintenance - Help install, maintain and remove traffic control systems which includes signage, cones and barriers.
- Communication- Use of two way radios confidently to stay in contact with the team, emergency services and other crews on site.
- Public and Site Safety- Monitoring of traffic conditions, identify/minimize risks and respond quicky to maintain a safe environment for all.
- Public Interaction- Courteously interacting with the public to explain traffic management plan to the drivers and/or pedestrians and handling queries as needed.

- Excellent verbal and non verbal communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Attention to detail oriented.
- Good physical stamina as will be working on your feet in all weather conditions.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Able to follow instructions and deliver on them in line with safety protocols.
To be successful for the role:
- Must hold a valid TTM , TMO or STMS certificate or NZQA unit standard.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Clear MOJ and driving history.
- Must have the ability to be on call for casual work day/night shifts and weekends.
