Digital Designer
- Design custom Shopify themes, landing pages, and UI components for client ecommerce sites
- Translate client briefs and brand guidelines into engaging, conversion-focused web designs
- Present and articulate design decisions to clients and internal stakeholders
- Work on roadmap Shopify projects from concept through to handoff, including responsive designs for desktop and mobile
- Collaborate closely with developers to ensure designs are feasible and pixel-perfect in implementation
- Support internal Barn marketing and brand work (social content, website updates, pitch decks, case studies)
- Occasionally lead non-ecommerce digital design projects (websites, branding, digital campaigns)
- Stay current with ecommerce design trends, Shopify platform updates, and UX best practices
- Leverage AI design tools (e.g. Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT) to enhance and accelerate creative workflows where appropriate
- Proven experience designing for ecommerce, ideally Shopify
- Strong portfolio demonstrating UI/UX skills for web (desktop and mobile)
- Proficiency in Figma (or similar design tools)
- Understanding of responsive design principles and basic awareness of how designs translate to development
- Strong typography, layout, and visual branding skills
- Excellent communication and time-management skills, able to juggle multiple projects
- A collaborative, can-do attitude and willingness to support varied tasks across the agency
- Familiarity with AI-powered design tools and a curiosity for how AI can improve design processes and output quality
- Experience with Shopify Liquid or theme structure basics
- Motion design or basic video editing skills
- Experience working in an agency environment
