Position: Cyber Security Specialist
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time
Location: West Perth, WA
Salary: AUD $95,000 – $115,000 per annum plus Superannuation (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain cyber security policies, standards, and technical controls across client and internal environments.
- Monitor networks, servers, endpoints, and cloud infrastructure for security events, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activities.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing coordination, and security risk assessments.
- Investigate and respond to cyber security incidents while performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Configure and manage firewalls, endpoint protection, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, and identity management solutions.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident response procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Australian cyber security frameworks, information security standards, and organisational policies.
- Provide cyber security advice, technical documentation, staff awareness training, and recommendations to improve overall security posture.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
- At least two years of relevant post-qualification experience, or five years of relevant experience where permitted under skilled occupation requirements.
- Strong knowledge of network security, cloud security, Microsoft environments, security monitoring tools, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Security, Azure Security, Active Directory, SIEM platforms, firewalls, endpoint security, and risk management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a professional consulting environment.
Desirable Skills
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Security, Azure Security Engineer, or equivalent.
- Experience with ISO 27001, Essential Eight, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, or ASD security guidelines.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 security technologies.
