Dairy Cattle Farm Operator

Located in VIC 3621, A.J HIBBERSON & V.K HIBBERSON is a family run dairy farm seeking one full-time Dairy Cattle Farm Operator to join our team. We take pride in cultivating a supportive workplace that provides authentic pathways for professional development and lasting career progression.
Job responsibilities
- Operate and maintain advanced dairy milking systems and associated equipment
- Monitor livestock health and behavior, promptly reporting any concerns
- Identify and report any equipment faults or irregular operation
- Operate farm machinery safely and perform routine inspections, maintenance, and minor adjustments
- Track and record key data such as milk yield, vat temperatures, and herd counts
- Keep farm records accurate and up to date, including herd information and feed inventories
- Use computerized farm management systems and standard measuring tools in daily operations
- Apply basic scientific knowledge to support farm processes and activities
- Assist with farm processes such as artificial insemination and fertiliser application when required
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to ensure efficient daily operations
- Adhere to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines and maintain high standards of animal welfare
What we are looking for
- Relevant qualifications and/or practical, hands-on experience in dairy or livestock farming
- Perform effectively both independently and as part of a cooperative team
- Good attention to detail and time management
- Strong communication skills and a positive team attitude
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions
- Maintain the physical stamina necessary to meet the daily demands of farm work
