Cook
Sir Charles is a busy dine-in cafe in Fitzroy, offering quality breakfast, lunch, and specialty coffee in a welcoming dining environment.
We are currently seeking an experienced Cook to join our team.
The Cook will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Preparing ingredients for daily food service, including washing, cutting, and portioning food items
- Preparing and cooking menu items according to recipes and customer orders
- Using various cooking methods such as grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking techniques to prepare meals
- Ensuring food quality, freshness, consistency, and presentation standards are maintained at all times
- Assisting with daily kitchen preparation and coordinating food service during busy periods
- Plating meals for service while maintaining consistency and presentation
- Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen areas, equipment, and food preparation stations
- Following food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures
Minimum requirements:
- Relevant qualification and/or at least 1 year of relevant work experience as a Cook
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
