Freelance Senior Designer (Social & AI)
We're looking for a freelance Senior Designer to support CapCut-related projects across social platforms, AI creator culture and video-making communities.
This is a one-month remote freelance role to start, with the possibility to extend if the fit is right.
We’re looking for someone highly hands-on, with a strong eye for social-first visual execution and the ability to move quickly from idea to polished design.
You should feel comfortable working with the visual language of tech, AI, creator tools and social platforms. You know what feels current, what feels overused, and how to make things feel native to the internet without making them feel cheap.
You don’t need to be an AI specialist, but you should be curious and practical about using AI tools to improve your workflow, explore visual routes, prototype assets, test ideas and move faster.
The Role Includes
- Designing social-first campaign assets, key visuals, posters, carousels, video thumbnails and keynote screen content.
- Turning loose creative thinking into clear visual directions that clients can understand quickly.
- Building mood boards, reference boards and visual routes.
- Developing visual systems that can stretch across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X and wider creator-facing content.
- Working with AI-generated assets and refining them into polished, usable design.
- Exploring short-form moving image ideas, simple motion treatments, transitions and title cards when needed.
- Working comfortably with teams across different time zones, especially between the UK and China.
What You Bring
- You are not new to this. You know the work.
- You are highly hands-on.
- You have a strong eye for typography, layout, rhythm, colour, image treatment and visual tone.
- You can make things feel polished without making them feel slow, corporate or over-designed.
- You are comfortable designing in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
- You know how to use AI tools as part of your creative workflow, not as a gimmick.
- You do not need to be a motion designer, but a good sense of motion, pacing and transitions would be a strong plus.
- You can take direction, but you can also bring your own eye and judgement.
