Granaire Family Holdings Pty Ltd trading as Husky Bakery & Café is now looking for skilled Bakers and Pastrycooks to join its passionate production team and support the continued delivery of high-quality baked goods, pastries and cafe products across its growing operations.
Salary range: $70,000-$90,000 per annum
Location: Huskisson, NSW 2540
Role Type: Full-time, multiple vacancies
Key Responsibilities for a Baker include but not limited to:
• Prepare and bake a range of fresh bakery products, including breads, rolls, savoury baked goods and other bakery items, in line with daily production requirements.
• Measure, mix, knead, shape and prove doughs to achieve the correct texture, size, consistency and quality before baking.
• Operate bakery equipment such as mixers, proofers, ovens and preparation tools safely and efficiently during daily production.
• Monitor baking times, temperatures and product appearance to ensure all bakery items are baked evenly and meet quality standards.
• Prepare bakery items for customised orders while maintaining consistency in portion size, presentation and freshness.
• Assist with planning bakery production schedules to ensure sufficient stock is available for daily trade, peak periods and customer demand.
• Check ingredient quality and manage stock levels for flour, yeast, grains, seeds, savoury fillings and other bakery supplies.
• Ensure all ingredients and finished bakery products are stored, labelled and rotated correctly to maintain freshness and minimise waste.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic bakery area in accordance with food safety, health and workplace safety requirements.
• Guide and support junior bakery staff in dough preparation, baking techniques, equipment use, hygiene practices and efficient workflow.


Key Responsibilities for Pastrycook include but not limited to:
• Prepare and bake a range of pastry products, including buns, cakes, tarts and other pastry goods, in line with daily production requirements and recipe standards.
• Check the quality of raw ingredients, accurately weigh and measure ingredients, and prepare mixtures, doughs, batters and pastry bases for production.
• Knead, mature, cut, mould, mix and shape pastry goods to achieve the required texture, size, finish and consistency before baking.
• Prepare pastry fillings, creams, glazes and toppings according to recipes, product specifications and customer requirements.
• Monitor oven temperatures, baking times and product appearance to ensure pastry items are baked correctly and meet quality standards.
• Glaze buns and pastries, and decorate cakes and pastry items with cream, icing and other suitable finishes to achieve the required presentation standard.
• Operate pastry and baking equipment safely, including mixers, ovens, moulding equipment, trays and tins, while maintaining efficient production flow.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas, ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients, minimise wastage, and comply with food safety, hygiene and workplace safety requirements.
The successful candidate must meet the following criteria
• Minimum qualification of Certificate III in Patisserie, Baking or related field is preferred; however, substantial relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience as a Baker/PastryCook.
• Minimum 1 year of Australian work experience in a similar bakery style cooking is mandatory.
• Available to work on both weekdays and weekends.
• Understanding of Australian food safety and HACCP.
