Senior Remote Team Leader — Accounting, Data & Operations

Remote Contractor Position
Compensation

Starting base compensation: $2,500 USD per month

This position includes opportunities for:

* Performance bonuses
* Responsibility-based increases
* Leadership increases
* Additional compensation for taking ownership of major business functions

A strong performer can grow the base compensation to approximately $3,000 per month within the first year, in addition to applicable performance bonuses.

Compensation growth will be based on measurable responsibility, performance, accuracy, leadership, and the ability to independently manage important areas of the business.

About the Role:

We are looking for a senior-level Accounting & Operations Team Leader who can take ownership of daily workflows, work independently, review the work of others, and turn business data into clear actions and decisions.

This is not a basic data-entry position.

We are looking for someone who can operate at a top 10% performance level — someone who can analyze, review, identify problems, follow up, and help improve the way the team works.

The right person should be comfortable managing both people and data in a fast-moving business environment.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for helping lead and review daily accounting and operational workflows, including:

* Reviewing and analyzing large amounts of business and financial data
* Identifying errors, discrepancies, trends, and opportunities
* Reviewing team members’ work for accuracy and completion
* Purchase Order vs. Vendor Bill analysis
* Vendor pricing and quantity discrepancy review
* Accounts receivable and customer aging
* Vendor aging and accounts payable
* Inventory analysis and reconciliation
* Price updates and vendor price-list comparisons
* Creating and improving Excel reports and tracking systems
* Following up on unresolved issues until they are completed
* Helping organize team priorities and daily workflow
* Communicating clearly with management and team members
* Using AI and automation to reduce repetitive work and improve accuracy
* Developing better processes, controls, and reporting systems

We want someone who does more than complete a task. We expect you to understand the task, review the results, identify what is wrong, and recommend the next action.

Required Experience

Strong candidates should have professional experience with:

* QuickBooks
* Microsoft Excel — advanced level
* Financial data reconciliation
* Data analysis and reporting
* Purchase orders and vendor bills
* Accounts payable and/or accounts receivable
* Reviewing and auditing work for accuracy
* Managing multiple priorities
* Team leadership or senior-level responsibility
* Strong written and spoken English

You must also be comfortable working daily with:

* Zoom
* ClickUp
* QuickBooks
* Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets
* Remote desktop and cloud-based systems

AI & Automation Experience

We are especially interested in candidates who already understand how to use modern technology to improve their work.

Experience with any of the following is highly valued:

* ChatGPT or other AI tools
* AI-assisted data analysis
* Workflow automation
* Excel automation
* Macros
* Automated reporting
* Process improvement
* Building repeatable systems and procedures

You do not need to be a programmer, but you should understand how AI and automation can help a business work faster, more accurately, and with fewer manual steps.

Leadership Expectations

This is a Team Leader role.

You should be able to:

* Take ownership without waiting for constant instructions
* Review other team members’ work
* Identify mistakes before they become larger problems
* Prioritize tasks based on business importance
* Communicate problems clearly
* Follow up until issues are resolved
* Train and guide junior team members
* Keep management updated with meaningful information
* Separate urgent issues from routine tasks
* Look for opportunities to improve existing processes

We are looking for someone who asks:

“What does this data tell us, what is the problem, and what action should we take?”

—not simply:

“What task should I do next?”

Work Schedule

Monday through Saturday

8-hour shift per day

The position operates according to Pacific Time (Los Angeles), and candidates must be able to work consistently within the assigned schedule.

Because this is a remote leadership position, reliability, attendance, responsiveness, and availability during working hours are extremely important.

Equipment Requirements

You must have a professional remote-work setup capable of supporting all-day Zoom, QuickBooks, remote-hosted environments, Excel, ClickUp, and other business applications simultaneously.

Required:

* Business-class laptop or desktop
* Intel Core i7 / AMD Ryzen 7 or equivalent
* 32GB RAM minimum
* 1TB NVMe SSD preferred
* Dual monitors
* Reliable high-speed internet
* Wired Ethernet strongly preferred
* Quiet and professional workspace

Before moving forward, qualified candidates will complete a practical assessment.

Sheet 1 — Purchase Order
Sheet 2 — Vendor Bill

Your assignment is to analyze the two documents and identify the differences, discrepancies, and anything else you believe management should know.

4. Your workbook must remain fully auditable.
5. Show your analysis, calculations, and logic inside the Excel file.
6. Do not simply identify differences — demonstrate how you think about the business impact and what should be reviewed or followed up on.
