Do you want to build products that bring cutting-edge AI to millions of learners, have a direct impact on how people learn, and see the results of your work in real-world use? At Learnosity, we believe the next chapter of education technology will not be defined by hype, but by teams who can turn complex ideas into reliable, high-impact products. AI is a big part of that evolution, alongside strong fundamentals in engineering, learning science, and product thinking.

We are looking for engineering leaders who are curious, pragmatic, and motivated by impact. People who enjoy building high performing teams, solving meaningful problems, and delivering products that work in real world learning environments.

About Us

Our products underpin high-stakes assessments and learning experiences, giving us a unique opportunity to shape how learning is measured and understood at scale.

Why Join Us?

Build from Zero to One: Join us at the most exciting stage of our journey: the very beginning. As an Engineering Manager you help shape a new product while leading the engineering teams responsible for delivering it.

Visibility & Influence: Operate in an environment where there’s minimal distance between ideas and decision-making, with direct access to senior leadership and the ability to shape meaningful outcomes.

Pragmatic Innovation: Help shape how AI and other new technologies are applied where they deliver genuine value.

Build & Scale: Help shape new products while leveraging the platform, customers, and reach of an established global business.

Real Impact: Build systems and products that directly influence how millions of learners are assessed and supported worldwide.

Ownership & Collaboration: Take responsibility for your work while collaborating with experienced, thoughtful teammates across engineering, product, and design.

Growth & Development: Develop your career in an environment that values continuous learning, leadership and long-term growth. If you’re motivated by building meaningful products at scale, and want to improve how people learn worldwide, we’d love to hear from you.

Job Description

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to help architect and build a new EdTech product targeted at the corporate market. Reporting directly to the CTO, you'll lead three engineering pods, helping teams deliver high quality software while building a strong engineering culture.

The team mainly build products using Typescript, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS, and modern AI technologies, with opportunities to explore and introduce new approaches where they add value. While this role is primarily focused on leadership, delivery, and team development, you'll work closely with engineers and Lead Engineers to help shape technical direction and engineering excellence.

If you:

  • Are passionate about using technology to have a massive impact in Education, and are excited about using AI to accelerate that mission
  • Enjoy building high-performing engineering teams by developing leaders and enabling teams to do their best work
  • Can balance technical excellence with rapid product delivery in a fast-moving environment
  • Are comfortable working closely with our CTO, Product, Design, and other business stakeholders to translate strategy into execution
  • Understand how to scale engineering teams, processes, and architecture as products and organisations grow
  • Believe that coaching and mentoring great leaders creates greater impact than managing individual contributors alone
  • Excited to work in an office at least 3 days a week

Then we'd love to talk with you

Core Goals and Responsibilities

  • Lead and support three engineering pods, each managed by an Engineering Lead Engineer
  • Guide architectural discussions and technical decision-making
  • Drive collaboration and planning across Engineering, Product, Design, and other business stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the product roadmap.
  • Partner closely with the CTO to execute the engineering strategy for Learnosity's Workforce product
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Lead Engineers, helping them grow as technical leaders and people managers
  • Establish and continuously improve engineering processes, delivery practices, and operational excellence
  • Support hiring, organisational planning, succession planning, onboarding, and performance management across engineering teams
  • Champion engineering best practices, security, reliability, and maintainability across all teams

Experience and Skills

Must have

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering
  • 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams, with experience coaching and developing Lead Engineers or other senior technical contributors
  • Strong understanding of modern software architecture and engineering best practices
  • Experience architecting and delivering complex software products in an agile environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively at executive and technical levels
  • Proven experience building and developing high-performing engineering teams
  • Experience managing engineering delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and performance management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and decision-making abilities
  • Experience balancing technical debt, product delivery, and long-term platform investment
  • Ability to influence without micromanaging, empowering teams to make effective decisions

It would be great if you had:

  • B.Sc or M.Sc degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar
  • Commercial experience with AI tools and concepts, including machine learning and large language models.
  • Experience driving the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices, including coding assistants, developer productivity tools, and AI-enabled software delivery processes, while establishing best practices, governance, and measurable improvements across engineering teams.
  • Experience working in fast-paced product environments where teams are expected to take ownership, move quickly, and learn through experimentation

Our Values

We are a values-driven company, and how we work matters as much as what we build:

Benefits

  • 25 days annual leave (+ milestone leave)
  • Paid sick leave
  • Generous parental leave
  • Health & dental insurance
  • Pension contributions
  • Learning & development support
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Flexible work practices
  • Commuter benefits
  • Modern city-centre office

Location & Working Style

Our team is based in Dublin City Centre. We value the balance between flexibility and the energy of in-person collaboration, and work from the office at least three days a week.

At Learnosity, we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace where all employees feel valued and empowered.
