About the role 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Investment Analyst in the Davy Select division of Davy. The Davy Select online investment platform enables investors to manage a wide range of pension and personal investment products within a single, integrated solution. Davy Select provides execution-only services via both online and telephone channels, supporting direct clients as well as clients of intermediary firms. The platform is focused on helping clients achieve their financial objectives through access to a broad selection of competitively priced investments, underpinned by a high standard of service.

 

Reporting to the Head of Investments, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with the wider Davy Investment Team and senior management within Davy Select. The role will focus on enhancing the delivery of investment solutions and improving the measurement of their impact across both Intermediary and Direct business channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in operating and overseeing the development of investment solutions across all business channels in Davy Select;
• Work directly with senior management on the launch of new Investment Products from Davy Select;
• Manage complex and critical model management operations for a range of investment solutions within Davy Select;
• Continuously improve the organisation’s ways-of-working around investment selection, portfolio construction and fund lists, establishing strong relationships across all business and operations areas;
• Work with the Davy Investment team on Investment Strategy & Investment Selection initiatives;
• Act as a point of contact for all queries relating to investment issues between the Davy Select Account Managers and Independent Financial Advisers;
• Provide investment analysis on funds and strategies as required;
• Contribute at intermediary and client events, internal investment seminars and client meetings;
• Provide input for and maintain investment content for the Davy Select website;
• Attend investment conferences and seminars as required for either CPD or as part of input to investment reports.

About you  

We are looking for somebody who has the following background and skills: 

• Degree in a business/finance related discipline
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Investment Industry
• Qualifications – Holder or working towards CFA and QFA qualifications
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
• Interest and understanding of investments and financial markets
• Strong communication skills and ability to build stakeholder relationships
• High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail
• Excellent information technology capability, including a high level of competence in Microsoft Office products;
• An ability to prioritise own workload

Fitness and Probity

The position set out above is defined in the Fitness & Probity Standards issued by the Central Bank of Ireland (“Fitness & Probity Standards”) as a “Controlled Function (CF)”, namely CF3, CF4, CF10. Therefore there is a requirement to hold, or be willing to take one of the following exams: APA (Regulation & Investment) or Registered Stockbroker or QFA and since function relates to Pensions: APA (Pensions). In compliance with the Fitness and Probity Standards applicable to your position, any offer of employment is conditional upon you demonstrating that you meet the Fitness & Probity Standards.
