We are currently expanding and looking to add a motivated individual to our team based out of our Brampton office.


Responsibilities:

Rate Development & Bidding:

  • Analyze spot bid requests and develop competitive pricing strategies based on market conditions, capacity availability, and operational costs
  • Negotiate rates with carriers and service providers to optimize margins while meeting customer requirements
  • Monitor spot market trends and adjust pricing strategies accordingly
  • Maintain relationships with carrier base to ensure competitive rates and capacity availability

Operations Management:

  • Coordinate all aspects of freight movement from pickup to delivery
  • Monitor shipment status and provide real-time updates to customers
  • Resolve operational issues and implement contingency plans when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety requirements
  • Track and trace shipments using transportation management systems (TMS)

Customer Service:

  • Respond promptly to customer spot quote requests
  • Provide regular status updates on bid submissions and shipment progress
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers
  • Address customer concerns and implement solutions to prevent future issues

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records of quotes, transactions, and carrier communications
  • Update transportation management system with relevant shipment information
  • Generate reports on spot market activities and performance metrics
  • Document standard operating procedures for spot quote processes

  • 3+ years experience in transportation/logistics industry
  • Strong understanding of spot market dynamics and pricing strategies
  • Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS)
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Experience with rate development and cost analysis
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
