We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to oversee the company's financial and accounting functions and support the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, maintain, and analyse financial records, statements, and reports.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with payroll, taxation, and superannuation obligations.
- Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYG, GST, payroll tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Monitor budgets, cash flow, and financial performance.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and relevant taxation legislation.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, financial institutions, and government authorities as required.
- Maintain accounting systems and recommend improvements to financial processes and internal controls.
- Provide financial analysis and advice to support business planning and decision-making within the hospitality business.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 1 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
- Sound knowledge of Australian accounting principles, taxation, GST, BAS, payroll, and relevant legislation.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks, along with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
