Payroll Administrator
The Company
Our client is a well-established not-for-profit organisation with a long history of supporting communities across Auckland. They provide a wide range of programmes and services that positively impact the lives of children, young people, and families. They are looking for a part-time Payroll Administrator (20 hours per week) to join the team on an initial 2-month contract with an immediate start.
The Role
In this sole-charge role, you will take ownership of the payroll administration process and be responsible for:
- Process and manage payroll inputs using iChris and the HR21 Self-Service Portal.
- Review and validate employee timesheets, ensuring all payroll data is accurate and submitted on time.
- Prepare payroll information for the outsourced payroll provider, conducting final checks before each fortnightly payroll run.
- Support the fortnightly Monday payroll cycle for approximately 550 employees.
- Process new employee setups and maintain accurate payroll records.
- Respond to general payroll queries and provide first-level support to employees and managers.
- Ensure payroll information is processed accurately while maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail.
Your Profile
To be successful in this role, you will have previous payroll administration experience and be confident working independently in a sole-charge environment. You will have excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a high-volume payroll setting. Experience using payroll systems such as iChris or HR21 will be highly regarded, although candidates with experience using similar payroll platforms are encouraged to apply. Strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality are essential.
