We have an opportunity available for a The Scrum Master is a servant leader of the Agile team and a Scrum team coach for the team members and Product Owner.

Role: Scrum Master

Location: Sydney

Key responsibilities of this newly created role include:

  • Lead the scrum team as a servant leader.
  • Craft a servant leadership style to be an example for all employees and aspiring leaders.
  • Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.
  • Guiding the team on how to get the most out of self-organization.
  • Develop with the team a sustainable pace of continuous improvement.
  • Help the team articulate, radiate, and actively remove impediments.
  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on problem-solving.
  • Create a positive team environment that empowers the team through the facilitation of discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Protects the team from both internal and external factors that may impact the team’s performance.
  • Actively working to develop new ways of communication, information radiation, and transparency for the team and their stakeholders.
  • Partner with the Product Owner to ensure a strong vision, backlog development and cadence.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (incl. sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives), ensuring that activities are time-boxed and artefacts are visible to the team (through visualization techniques and/or tools).
  • Radiate sprint team metrics that help the team see how they are doing.
  • Work with other stakeholders to validate and align dependencies
  • Working closely with the Agile coach to grow the team (if applicable).
  • Understand other processes and methodologies other than Agile and can speak intelligently about them and leverage other techniques to provide value to a team/enterprise.
  • Understand fundamentals of software development processes and procedures.
  • Understand the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team.
  • Understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics.
  • Understand backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition.
  • Familiarity with common Agile practices and enhanced development practices.
  • Leadership and Communication
  • Demonstrate strong behavior and leadership that aligns with the program’s leadership
