Salary: $77,000 – $85,000 per annum (plus Superannuation)
About the Role
Acacia Motor Lodge is a highly rated 4-star, 23-room motel in Coonabarabran, in the heart of the Warrumbungle region. We are seeking an outstanding and energetic Motel Manager to join our team bringing experience in hospitality management, reception, and customer service to our thriving property.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organise, direct, and control the day-to-day accommodation and catering services of the motel to ensure profitability and KPIs are met
- Manage back-office operations, front-of-house service, and reservation systems, including online enquiries
- Recruit, train, roster, and conduct performance reviews for motel staff
- Consult with clients regarding functions and accommodation requirements
- Monitor the quality of housekeeping, room presentation, and guest services
- Oversee purchasing, stock control, and cost management for the property
- Set and monitor room rates and occupancy targets, converting enquiries into direct bookings
- Market and promote the property to maintain consistent high occupancy levels
- Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, fire safety, and liquor licensing regulations
- Set up and oversee the motel's security systems
- Undertake general property maintenance oversight, including gardening and upkeep of grounds
- Ensure guest expectations are consistently met, maintaining the motel's reputation for high-quality service
What We're Looking For:
- Associate Diploma or higher qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field, or at least 3 years' relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar hotel/motel management role, locally or overseas
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with guests
- Proficiency in hospitality management and reservation software
- Strong purchasing and cost management experience
- High attention to detail, particularly regarding room presentation and cleanliness
- Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate
- Sound knowledge of health and hygiene requirements and Australian WHS standards
- Strong time management, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of operations, and adapt quickly
