Our workshop provides comprehensive automotive services, including logbook servicing, engine repairs, diagnostics, brake and suspension repairs, steering, transmission servicing, and general mechanical maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using specialised diagnostic equipment and manufacturer service information.
- Inspecting, dismantling and repairing engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, braking systems and other mechanical components.
- Repairing or replacing worn, damaged or defective mechanical and electrical parts and reassembling components to manufacturer specifications.
- Carrying out scheduled servicing, including oil and filter changes, lubrication, tune-ups and other preventative maintenance to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
- Performing engine, transmission, cooling system and drivetrain repairs on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
- Testing, adjusting and inspecting repaired components to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.
- Conducting computer-based diagnostics and fault finding on modern vehicle systems.
- Inspecting vehicles to identify repair requirements and recommending appropriate maintenance and repairs to customers.
- Responding to mechanical breakdowns and carrying out repairs to minimise vehicle downtime where required.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop while complying with workplace health and safety and environmental requirements.
Qualification and Experience
- Relevant qualification in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent qualification. Applicants with at least three years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
- Demonstrated experience servicing and repairing a range of passenger and light commercial vehicles.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, including the use of modern diagnostic equipment.
- Sound knowledge of engine, transmission, braking, steering, suspension and other vehicle mechanical systems.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, manufacturer specifications and repair procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced workshop environment.
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
