
Senior Geospatial Analyst - Quality Control
This exciting Senior Analyst position is responsible for ensuring the quality of the Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) data, analysis and products produced by GEOINT New Zealand. GEOINT New Zealand's role is to lead a unified All of Government GEOINT enterprise providing geospatial understanding to enable decision advantage.
The role will provide GEOINT Quality Control subject matter expertise, technical leadership and professional liaison in direct support of NZDF as well as our national and international allies for operations, planning and training, and to other Government departments where required.
As a senior analyst, this role is expected to mentor and coach less experienced geospatial analysts.
You will join a motivated and diverse team with a wide range of backgrounds and experience. This is interesting and rewarding work, where your work can have tangible outcomes. You will work with a wide range of customers and will become a subject matter expert on topics of domestic and international interest.
A typical day could include: * Meeting with the GEOINT team and wider intelligence networks to understand their requirements. * Providing subject matter expertise on draft GEOINT data, product or analysis. * Supporting organisational planning for GEOINT support to National Security Intelligence Priorities and New Zealand Defence Force requirements. * Providing subject matter expertise for GEOINT capabilities. Due to the nature of the duties required for this role there are limited opportunities to work from home. Flexible working arrangements for varied hours/days are negotiable.
Occasional domestic and international travel is required. You may have the opportunity to travel overseas for specialised technical training.
Please note: As this role requires a high level of security clearance, you will need to be / have been a NZ, UK, Australian, Canadian or USA citizen for a minimum of 15 years to be eligible for this role.
The successful candidate is required to undergo a psychological assessment as part of the pre-employment security vetting process. Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have 5 - 7 Years + in the Geospatial Information industry, along with an advanced understanding of QA/QC principles and validation workflows for geospatial products and datasets in addition to a detailed knowledge of GIS software such as the ESRI suite.
You will be a self-starter who is able to work autonomously while also collaborating with the wider team when needed. Your relationship management and service delivery skills are your strength, with the ability to understand customer's needs.
Ideally, you will also have: * Proven experience fostering and maintaining professional working relationships with a diverse range of partners and customers. * Well-developed analytical and research skills. * Excellent communication skills including an ability to research and obtain information from various sources and tailor this to meet customer requirements. * Experience with information requirements management, collection coordination and planning.
