Sanctions & Exports Control Lawyer
We currently have opportunities for bright, personable and enthusiastic lawyers to join our dynamic team within our market leading firm. We would like to hear from any interested solicitors, whether practicing locally or considering returning to Ireland, who have a genuine interest in sanctions, export controls, white collar crime or regulatory investigations, and, ideally, relevant PQE gained within a large, medium or boutique corporate law firm.
Our Sanctions & Export Controls group is the leading sanctions & export controls team in the Irish market. We specialise in advising domestic and international clients on the application of sanctions and export control laws, helping them identify, manage and mitigate legal, regulatory and commercial risks. The role involves providing strategic and practical advice on evolving sanctions regimes, export licensing requirements, compliance programmes, investigations, reporting obligations and the impact of sanctions on commercial transactions. We combine this regulatory experience with our leading white-collar and litigation and disputes expertise to advise on the most complex, challenging and high-profile corporate crises for our Irish and international client base.
Our clients include some of the largest Irish and global companies across a broad range of industry sectors including tech, financial services, life sciences, real estate, asset management, manufacturing, automotive, retail, agri-food and gaming. To an ever-increasing extent, our clients are required to deal with regulatory enquiries in parallel with actual or threatened civil litigation and an evolving legal landscape.
The successful candidate will work closely with clients across sectors including financial services, aviation, technology, energy, life sciences, manufacturing and international trade.
Successful applicants should have experience or interest in some or all of the following areas:
- Advising major Irish and international businesses on how sanctions and export controls affect their operations, transactions and supply chains, often against a fast-moving geopolitical backdrop.
- Helping clients stay ahead of an evolving regulatory landscape by translating new sanctions, export control and geopolitical developments into clear, practical guidance.
- Finding creative, commercially minded solutions to business-critical sanctions and export control queries in compliance with law and advising on investigations and possible prosecutions into alleged non-compliance.
- Advising corporates on white collar crime exposure, including fraud, bribery and corruption, money laundering and corporate offences.
- Representing clients in their dealings with regulators such as the Central Bank of Ireland and the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, from seeking authorisations to responding to information requests, investigations and dawn raids.
- Working alongside our leading white collar and disputes teams on complex, high-profile corporate crises that combine regulatory scrutiny with related civil litigation.
At A&L we pride ourselves on the high calibre of our employees. We place strong emphasis on career development and enabling our people to excel in their careers. Our work environment is friendly, professional and collaborative. In addition to working with a highly regarded team we offer:
