**Maintenance fitter** **One (1) Day Shift (7:30AM-4:00PM)** We're looking for a hands-on **Maintenance Fitter** to join our team and play a key role in keeping our production lines running safely, efficiently, and reliably. **What You'll Do:** + Execute maintenance work orders with accuracy and on time (including reporting, time confirmations, and close-out) + Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving food processing, utilities and packaging equipment. + Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. and all activities comply with food safety, quality, health and safety, and environmental standards. + Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site's CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System). + Manage parts correctly and follow proper store procedures + Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime. + Conduct root cause analysis on recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions. **Drive Continuous Improvement:** + Actively contribute to TPM and continuous improvement initiatives (5S, breakdown analysis, etc.) + Work closely with operators to build equipment care and reliability knowledge + Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency. + Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing maintenance costs and increasing equipment availability. + Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery and equipment. **What You'll Bring:** + Trade qualification with strong maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment (preferred) + Experience with SAP PM or similar maintenance systems + A proactive mindset with a focus on safety, quality, and results + Strong communication and teamwork skills + Experience with automated production and packaging equipment. + Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge. + Welding and fabrication skills. **What Sets You Apart:** + Commitment to safety with zero tolerance for unsafe practices, follow company health and safety policies and procedures at all times. + Conduct risk assessments and comply with lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures. + Report hazards, incidents, and near misses promptly. + Maintain a clean and safe work environment. + Ability to lead by example, coach others, and take ownership + Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence **Are you a Fit?** + To be successful in this role you must possess the following qualities: + Reliability, trustworthiness and positive attitude. + Good level of fitness due to manual handling requirements. + Strong focus on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). + Strong commitment to Health and Safety (H&S). + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards + Strategic thinking and resourcefulness for problem solving. + Ability to effectively communicate and interact with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders in the production process. + Has to be Citizen, Permanent Resident or updated work visa in New Zealand
