About the opportunity
This is an opportunity for experienced
retail leaders to connect with us about leadership opportunities across our
Mitre 10 stores in Auckland. We are inviting applications from proven leaders
who operate comfortably in complex retail environments.
Roles may suit leaders currently operating
at Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Retail Manager or Operations Manager
level, or those leading significant teams, departments, or functions within
similar retail businesses. While scope will vary, all roles require visible
leadership, commercial awareness, accountability, and consistent execution.
These are hands-on leadership roles in fast-moving environments where providing direction, developing teams, maintaining high standards, and delivering results matter.
We are looking to connect with leaders who:
- have experience leading large, layered teams through other managers or department leaders
- understand commercial drivers such as sales, margin and labour
- maintain a visible, on-the-floor leadership presence
- bring experience from big-box, hardware, grocery, department store, trade, or similar high-volume retail settings
In these roles, you may be responsible for:
- leading multiple departments within a large-format store
- driving sales, service, and operational standards
- managing labour, productivity, and performance outcomes
- using trading data to inform decisions
- developing leaders and building team capability
- leading through peak trade and high-volume periods

also owns and operates Columbus Coffee cafés, a Distribution Centre, and a
Frame & Truss Manufacturing Plant.
Our MEGA stores
operate at significant scale. These are complex, multi-department environments
with large teams, high customer traffic, and broad product ranges across retail
and trade. Leading in this environment requires structured thinking, strong commercial
awareness, and the ability to consistently deliver through other leaders.
