Seasonal Department Leader

About the Role
We’re looking for a Seasonal Department Leader to join our team at Mitre 10 MEGA Marlborough.
You’ll take ownership of the department’s day-to-day performance, ensuring an exceptional customer experience while driving sales and maintaining high standards of stock presentation and merchandising.
You are sales oriented and lead from the front, and create a positive, solutions-focused culture where your team understands what great looks like every day.
⭐ What You’ll Bring
We welcome leaders from across the retail spectrum—DIY, FMCG, grocery, specialty, or other high-volume environments. Experience with seasonal categories such as heating and cooling, fires, BBQs and outdoor furniture or experience working across multiple departments, would be an advantage. You will bring:
- Proven working experience in a busy retail or customer-facing environment
- A strong positive and growth mindset
- Strong operational discipline with hands-on approach and confidence in stock flow, merchandising, and presentation standards
- Strong DIY skills and the physical fitness to assemble display models quickly
- A customer-first approach, resolving queries calmly and professionally
- Confident on-the-floor decision-making to keep trading smooth and sales targets on track
- Strong product knowledge or the willingness to learn quickly
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
