Biology Teacher
MISSION
The teacher's main mission is to provide students with knowledge, skills and attitudes in order to develop skills in the subject.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach Biology in middle and high school
- Design and implement learning or teaching situations based on French programs and standards
- Convey subject knowledge
- Design and implement assessment methods of student’s learnings, in liaison with other teachers or professional partners
- Ensure students acquire skills including capacities, attitudes and procedural knowledge
- Be an expert in the conduct of a class and foster the interest and participation of students and trainees
- Provide personalised follow-up of students in relation with families and participate in their orientation project
- Contribute to the school’s operation and to teamwork
- Adapt his/her teaching to the diversity of students by providing each of them with the necessary support, and measure their achievements
- Use information and communication technologies to support learnings
- Exercise of specific functions such as coordination, form teacher and others
SKILLS, ABILITY AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
- French Ministry of Education degree holder or equivalent
- Deep understanding of the subject and the curriculum
- Experience in teaching in Middle and High school is preferable
- Knowledge of the French curriculum is an advantage
- Experience in project management related to sustainable development or willingness to work on this theme

- Very good writing and speaking skills
- Strong teamwork skills and committed to making projects successful
- Mastery of digital tools
- Ability to adapt to French-speaking and non French-speaking students

- Proficiency in English (B1 level and above) is appreciated for supporting bilingual students and families
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Full time (18 hours/week) from December 2026 to July 2027 (Fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave).
- Remuneration will be based on company salary scale

RESPONSABILITÉS
- Enseigner les sciences de la vie et de la terre au collège et au lycée
- Concevoir et mettre en œuvre des situations d’apprentissage ou d’enseignement dans le cadre des programmes et référentiels français
- Transmettre des connaissances disciplinaires
- Concevoir et mettre en œuvre des modalités d’évaluation des acquis des élèves, en liaison avec les autres enseignants ou les partenaires professionnels
- Faire acquérir des compétences incluant des capacités, des attitudes et des savoir-faire
- Maîtriser la conduite d'une classe et susciter l'intérêt et la participation des élèves et apprentis
- Assurer un suivi personnalisé des élèves en lien avec les familles et participer à leur projet d’orientation
- Contribuer au fonctionnement de l’établissement et au travail d’équipe
- Adapter son enseignement à la diversité des élèves en apportant à chacun l'appui nécessaire, et mesurer leurs acquis
- Utiliser des technologies de l'information et de la communication au service des apprentissages
- Exercice de fonctions spécifiques (coordination, professeur principal...)
COMPÉTENCES, EXPÉRIENCE ET FORMATION REQUISES
- Titulaire de l’Education Nationale ou profil équivalent
- Maîtrise de la matière enseignée
- Expérience dans l’enseignement au niveau secondaire (collège et lycée) et notamment en première et terminale souhaitée
- Connaissance du système éducatif français un avantage
- Expérience dans la gestion de projet lié au développement duranble ou appétence à travailler sur cette thématique
- Sens de l’organisation et du contact
- Réactivité et disponibilité
- Capacité d’adaptation et bienveillance
- Très bonne expression écrite et orale
- Forte capacité à travailler en équipe et à s’investir dans des projets
- Expérience en coordination
- Maîtrise des outils numériques
- Capacité à s’adapter à des élèves non francophones
- Capacité à assurer un enseignement adapté à des élèves très divers
- Capacité à travailler de manière transversale et pluridisciplinaire
- Maîtrise du français et l’anglais (niveau B1 et plus) serait appréciée pour faciliter les échanges avec les familles.
CONDITIONS DE TRAVAIL
- Poste à temps plein (18h/ semaine), de décembre 2026 à juillet 2027, en CDD pour couvrir un congé maternité.
- La rémunération basée sur le diplôme, l'expérience et la grille de salaire de l’IFS
