Public CBD is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and results-driven Cafe and Restaurant Manager to join our team.
In this role, you will oversee day-to-day operations, lead front-of-house and kitchen teams, maintain operational and financial efficiency, and elevate the overall dining experience. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth venue operations, upholding high standards of customer service, and driving business growth in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Responsibilities
- Planning and updating menus in consultation with the Head Chef and Sous Chef.
- Planning, organising, and executing special functions, private events, and catering services.
- Managing purchasing, stock control, and menu pricing in accordance with operating budgets and target profitability.
- Maintaining accurate records of stock levels, daily sales, operational expenses, and financial transactions.
- Ensuring all dining, bar, and kitchen facilities strictly comply with food safety, health, and hygiene regulations while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
- Actively engaging with guests and conferring with customers to gather feedback, assess satisfaction, and promptly address any service issues.
- Recruiting, selecting, training, rostering, and supervising front-of-house and back-of-house staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Overseeing daily front-of-house operations, including taking reservations, welcoming guests, and assisting with order taking or hands-on service during peak operating hours.
What We’re Looking For
- At least one (1) year of relevant work experience
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and team management skills.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.
- Ability to provide friendly and professional customer service.
