Role Overview
The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) for Autonomous AI is a strategic hybrid of technical architect, advisor, and hands-on consultant.The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) sits at the intersection of sales and technology, owning the front-end of the revenue cycle for HighRadius's Autonomous AI platform. You will partner directly with Account Executives to drive and close enterprise deals — leading discovery, process As Is, create To Be stage, execute Proof of Concept, delivering value-based demonstrations that convert prospects into customers. As the primary technical sales authority in the room, you will build executive-level credibility with CFOs and finance leaders, architecting tailored solutions that map directly to measurable ROI and business outcomes. This is a quota-influencing role where your ability to translate complex AI capabilities into clear business value will be critical.
Core Responsibilities
Autonomous Solution Architecture & Value
- Lead technical discussions with potential clients, helping them move from simple automation to advanced AI that helps them make better decisions and scale their operations.
- Design tailored solutions that map autonomous agent capabilities to specific customer ROI drivers, such as productivity improvement and working capital optimization.
- Create custom technical solutions that help customers reach their financial goals, like improving cash flow or reducing late payments.
- Build clear business cases and financial models that demonstrate actual financial gains and productivity improvement using our solution.
- Act as a subject matter expert, translating field-level AI challenges into strategic influence over the HighRadius agentic platform roadmap.
Sales and Deal Strategy
- Own the end-to-end deal lifecycle by developing comprehensive opportunity plans with Account Executives and driving rigorous execution to exceed sales targets.
- Partner with Marketing to refine value propositions and lead-generation messaging, ensuring alignment with customer automation needs and the competitive landscape.
- Develop and present sophisticated cost-benefit ROI models and conduct technical maturity assessments to define long-term account strategies and product roadmaps.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless solution delivery and sustained customer satisfaction.
AI Innovation & Field Validation
- Work directly with key customers to demonstrate existing and new AI features, with custom workflows leveraging real-time client data.
- Drive structured feedback loops to Engineering and Product teams to harden the agentic platform based on field-validated insights.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in Technical Sales, Solution Selling, or Consulting within a quota-bearing environment; experience selling to the Office of the CFO is highly preferred.
- Proven track record in Enterprise SaaS and a deep aptitude for technical business conversations with both IT and finance stakeholders.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex AI concepts for executive audiences and provide technical specifications to Engineering.
- Demonstrated high agency and the ability to operate autonomously in high-stakes, ambiguous environments.
- Adequate technical knowledge of AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Strong domain expertise in Finance (CFO office), with a solid understanding of ERP systems and Accounts Payable processes.
- Experience in technical consulting or pre-sales, with a knack for building ROI models.
- MBA preferred; Bachelor's degree with significant relevant work experience (2+ years) will be considered. Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Supplier Onboarding and Supplier Payment processes is a distinct advantage.
