NETWORK COORDINATOR, EUROPE
Reports to: Project Manager
Preferred timezone: CET +/- 2 hours
Deadline: 10 August, 2026
Contract: 12 months, with possibility of extension subject to funding - Full-time (40 hours per week)
About Climate Catalyst
Climate Catalyst is a U.S. based non-profit dedicated to galvanising the collective power of business, investors, and civil society to influence and accelerate policy change in Asia and Europe. We work to strengthen collaboration and mobilise new actors on pivotal climate challenges to build power and compel political leaders to act at the speed and scale needed to tackle the climate crisis. We do this by:
- Working behind the scenes with stakeholders in Europe and Asia to identify critical climate issues where action to date has been limited and collaboration potential is high.
- Bringing together renowned experts and new entrants to share ideas, and design and deliver creative campaigns that secure decisive changes in national and regional policy to deliver sectoral tipping points and secure significant emissions reductions.
- Advising on strategy, bringing creative communications, advocacy and movement building expertise to build power across the climate community to catalyse action.
To date, we’ve used this model successfully to build a strong and empowered communications network to challenge dominant narratives holding back progress in tackling the climate impact of aviation, to mobilise the business community in support of the EU Nature Restoration Law, the first legislation for peatlands restoration across Europe, and to spark action in India that led to commitment from the Ministry of Steel to develop green steel policy.
About The Role
The Network Coordinator will form part of our European programme team, working closely with the Project Manager on our current chemicals programme to establish and run a “European Chemical Hub.” The Hub is a new initiative aiming to enable dialogue, learning and collaboration between civil society organisations focusing on the toxicity, waste, and climate change aspects of chemical pollution, uniting them behind a common vision and providing cohesion to the European civil society chemical movement in its entirety.
This role is initially set as a 12-month contract, with potential to extend subject to funding, and will report into our Project Manager for European programmes.
What You Will Do
- Build and maintain relationships with Hub participants across the chemical toxicity, climate, and waste movements, serving as the primary point of contact.
- Establish and manage the Hub’s channels for ongoing exchange.
- Maintain the Hub's digital infrastructure, ensuring content stays current, accessible, and useful to members.
- Chair regular Hub meetings including setting agendas, facilitating discussion across the toxicity, waste, and climate movements, and ensuring actions are captured and followed up.
- Plan and deliver learning and upskilling sessions by identifying topics based on member needs, sourcing speakers, managing logistics, and capturing outputs.
- Produce newsletters keeping Hub members informed of policy developments and one another’s plans in collaboration with other programme team members.
- Support with additional activities of the Hub, and potentially our wider portfolio of European programmes, as needed.
What You Would Bring
- Experience in network building and/or management, with strong co-ordination and task management skills.
- Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on organisation-wide strategies.
- Knowledge and understanding of the key issues pertaining to decarbonisation of the heavy emitting industries in Europe. Knowledge of the chemical sector is valued, but not essential.
- Strong initiative and an ability to work both autonomously as well as within a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to distil complex issues for a lay audience.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships and manage partnerships with a network of civil society organisations.
- Awareness of the potentially diverse opinions and voices of Climate Catalyst’s partners and ensure they are taken into account via our work and the Hub.
- Ability to adapt and respond positively in circumstances where priorities need to shift quickly, and be open to working on different issues over time.
- Humble, with low ego and ready to roll up your sleeves.
- Commitment to our values of courage, collaboration, diversity and learning.
- This role is fully-remote, with a stipend available for use of co-working spaces. You must have a right to work in the country you reside in.
- Our working language is English. Fluency in an additional language is valued but not required.
- This position may require intermittent travel.
Compensation + Benefits
- The starting salary for this role is EUR 47,840. Compensation is adjusted based on the employee’s location and aligned to equivalent local salary bands.
- Benefits include: health insurance, stipends for wellness and phone/Wi-Fi, professional development, co-working space coverage, generous pension contribution and more.
