Introduction

If you thrive on practical work and have built your skills through hands-on experience, this opportunity is for you. We're searching for our next Trainee Line Mechanic - someone who enjoys getting stuck in, values the satisfaction of a job well done, and wants to turn their skills into a recognised qualification. You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with seasoned Line Mechanics, learning the ins and outs of constructing and maintaining electricity distribution lines, cable systems, and safely operating the tools and equipment that keep our network running. The role also includes some manual civil work, so you’ll be putting your practical know-how to good use every day.

About You

We want to hear from hard-working individuals with a background in labouring, farming, construction, or any other physically demanding roles. Your hands-on experience is exactly what helps you excel in this environment. If you’re used to rolling up your sleeves and getting the job done, you’ll fit right in.

  • Commitment to keeping yourself and others safe at work and in the community
  • Pride in delivering great service to customers
  • Physically fit and comfortable working at heights
  • Reliable, positive attitude and a team player
  • Full driver’s licence (Class 1)

We’ll provide you with comprehensive training so you can earn the NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply (Line Mechanic Distribution) Level 4. If you’re ready to use your skills, learn from the best, and build a rewarding career with us, we encourage you to apply.

MainPower requires all successful applicants to complete a pre-employment drug and medical test.
