Operational Risk Specialist

We're seeking an ambitious risk professional eager to build expertise spanning enterprise risk, operational risk, and third-party oversight within a fast-paced digital banking setting. This person will join the Enterprise & Operational Risk Management (EORM) team as Operational Risk Specialist, reporting to the Head of Enterprise & Operational Risk.
The role contributes across the EORM function, with particular emphasis on Operational Risk (including Risk Appetite, Key Risk Indicators, RCSA, Operational Risk Events, and Issues management), Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM), and New Product Risk Assessment. The successful candidate will help uphold the Bank's risk frameworks, carry out risk assessments, and support regulatory compliance across both outsourcing arrangements and new product launches.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Risk Management (ORM)
- Support annual Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) cycle – engage business units, refresh risk/control libraries, review and challenge end-to-end RCSA process including sampling test of control effectiveness.
- Support operational risk events and issue lifecycle management – identification, documentation, remediation tracking, closure/risk acceptance and reporting to risk committees
- Assist in Risk Appetite Indicator (RAI) and Key Risk Indicator (KRI) monitoring and reporting to risk committees
- Assist in developing and delivering bank-wide or targeted risk awareness training
Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM)
- Assist in end-to-end lifecycle management of third-party arrangements – including outsourcing vs. non-outsourcing determinations and due diligence requirements per MAS Notice 658
- Maintain the third party register for the Bank and coordinate across the bank to ensure that due diligence of third parties is performed on a timely and regular basis in accordance to the policy.
- Support development and maintenance of Third Party & Outsourcing Policy.
New Product Approval
- Support the New Product Approval (NPA) process – review and challenge risk assessment for new products, services, and business initiatives
- Support development and maintenance of New Product Approval Policy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related domains.
- At least 5 years of experience in Ops Risk Management or Audit in operational areas preferably within the financial industry.
- Familiar with operational risk regulatory and legislative requirements (e.g., Guidelines on Outsourcing (Banks), MAS 658)
- Advantageous to have professional certifications such as Risk Management
