POSITION OVERVIEW
Join our dedicated team at Tyre Barn Dandenong as a Motor Mechanic. In this hands‑on role, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a wide range of vehicles, ensuring our customers drive safely and confidently.
We’re looking for someone with strong technical skills, reliability, and a genuine passion for automotive excellence. You’ll work with tyres, wheels, suspension systems, and general mechanical repairs, contributing to a supportive team environment while delivering high‑quality service that keeps our customers on the road..
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose mechanical issues across a wide range of vehicles, including tyres, wheels, suspension, brakes, and engines.
- Perform routine servicing such as oil changes, tyre fitting, wheel balancing, and safety checks.
- Carry out repairs and maintenance to ensure vehicles are safe, reliable, and roadworthy.
- Operate diagnostic tools and equipment to identify faults accurately.
- Provide expert advice to customers on vehicle condition and recommended repairs.
- Maintain workshop cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor stock levels of parts and tools, reporting shortages to management.
- Work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent customer service.
- Keep up to date with automotive technology and industry best practices.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent), Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis is Preferred
- Proven experience as a qualified Motor Mechanic, minimum 1 year
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Sound knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems
