Chef
Cafe on Swan Unit Trust is looking for Chef with individual focused on food preparation coupled with the ability to produce quality and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design menus and estimate the costs of food and labor, while also managing the procurement of food supplies.
- Oversee all stages of dish preparation, ensuring the quality and presentation meet high standards.
- Liaise with managerial staff, dietitians, and the service team to resolve issues related to food preparation.
- Provide guidance on cooking techniques and procedures to kitchen staff.
- Execute the preparation and cooking of food with high proficiency.
- Maintain strict adherence to food hygiene and safety regulations.
- Opportunity to participate in the selection and training of kitchen staff.
- Oversee the storage and preservation of food.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Must have a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) with Diploma of Hospitality Management.
- A minimum of one year experience in a professional kitchen setting.
- Proficient in managing food costs, menu planning, and staff training.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
- The ability to work varied shifts from Morning to late evenings (including weekends)
- The ability to think outside the box with a positive can-do attitude
Salary: AUD $80,000 - $90,000 per year + Superannuation, based on experience and qualifications.
