This includes multiple sites and environments used for cross-company collaboration.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></p> <p>This role is responsible for maintaining the architectural integrity, security stance, and scalable expansion of the Atlassian platform. An important part of this position involves creating and managing a configuration-as-code environment. In this setup, platform settings are handled via APIs, pipelines, and source control instead of manual management, which guarantees consistency, traceability, and adherence across all locations.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></p> <p>You will serve as the primary platform owner, setting standards, ensuring governance, and promoting self-service features that help teams work efficiently while keeping security and configuration intact.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></p> <p>Collaborating with Project Managers, engineering teams, and partners, you will build scalable workflows. You will also guide platform growth and ensure the Atlassian environment adapts to the organisation’s changing requirements.</p> <p>This role begins with an active role that includes daily support, configuration, and onboarding efforts. At the same time, it involves growing the Atlassian platform team and setting up scalable processes.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></p> <h2>The Team</h2> <p>You’ll be joining a multi-disciplinary team with strong technical skills and a very encouraging culture. If you're looking to solve interesting problems and see your work deliver real-world results, this is the team for you!</p> <h2>Responsibilities and Duties</h2> <ul> <li>Manage and maintain multiple Atlassian Cloud sites, ensuring secure collaboration spaces that span different companies</li> <li>Act as the authoritative decision-maker for Atlassian configuration, preventing configuration drift and ensuring architectural consistency in all builds</li> <li>Define and enforce governance standards aligned with audit, compliance, and security requirements</li> <li>Establish and maintain a configuration-as-code operating model, ensuring all configuration is provisioned and managed through source control, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines</li> <li>Build and maintain automated identity and access provisioning, coordinated with Azure AD (or equivalent), ensuring access follows established rules and is auditable</li> <li>Lead automation efforts for project provisioning, workflows, permissions, and scheme management</li> <li>Develop and evolve self-service capabilities to standardise project setup and reduce administrative overhead</li> <li>Define and maintain best-practice configuration patterns across Jira and Confluence</li> <li>Ensure secure separation of internal and third-party collaboration environments, with awareness of data governance, export controls, and security boundaries</li> <li>Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on platform and workflow issues and implement preventative improvements</li> <li>Act as the final point of contact for complex Atlassian issues and provide enterprise-level support</li> <li>Deliver professional advice to Project Managers and engineering teams across diverse workflows and delivery models</li> <li>Provide direct assistance when needed, including collaborating with Project Managers and teams to set up projects and workflows, ensuring they align with platform standards and governance</li> <li>Coordinate identity and access integrations and drive automation of administrative processes through scripting and tooling</li> <li>Build, mentor, and grow the Atlassian platform team, defining clear roles, responsibilities, and methods of collaboration</li> <li>Proactively identify improvement opportunities and drive solutions.</li> </ul> <h2>Candidate Profile</h2> <p>Essential:</p> <ul> <li>Extensive experience coordinating Atlassian Enterprise Cloud</li> <li>Proven experience operating as a lead or primary Atlassian platform owner</li> <li>Strong automation expertise (Jira Automation, REST APIs, scripting)</li> <li>Demonstrated experience implementing configuration-as-code approaches for SaaS platforms</li> <li>Experience automating project configuration and enforcing standardisation at scale</li> <li>Strong understanding of access control based on user identity and automated provisioning models</li> <li>Experience connecting Atlassian with Azure AD (or a similar IdP)</li> <li>Experience working in audit-controlled or governance-heavy environments</li> <li>Experience crafting secure multi-tenant or cross-company collaboration environments</li> <li>Solid understanding of data governance, security boundaries, and compliance considerations</li> <li>Proficient scripting abilities (e.g. PowerShell, Python, Go) and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines</li> <li>Strong collaborator management and consultancy skills</li> <li>Proven ability to operate independently, set direction, and deliver outcomes</li> </ul> <h2>Desirable</h2> <ul> <li>Atlassian certifications</li> <li>Experience building internal self-service platforms</li> <li>Experience directing large-scale collaboration efforts across multiple companies</li> <li>Familiarity with DevOps tooling and infrastructure-as-code concepts</li> <li>Experience defining enterprise-wide workflow standards</li> </ul> <p>We welcome people of different backgrounds and experiences; we’re committed to building an inclusive work environment that makes Graphcore a great home for everyone.
