The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced HR Manager to join our People team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
Salary: Competitive and dependent on skills and experience.
Based at our Glenbervie site, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys building strong relationships, supporting managers and leading a small HR team in a busy manufacturing environment. The role requires occasional travel to our other sites, including Tannochside, Glasgow, to provide HR support and maintain a visible presence across the business.
Reporting to the People and Sustainability Director, you'll lead the day-to-day delivery of HR services across the business, providing practical and professional advice to managers and employees on a wide range of people matters. You'll also have line management responsibility for our HR Advisor and HR Assistant, helping to develop the team while ensuring a high-quality HR service is delivered across the organisation.
This is a varied generalist role where no two days are the same. You'll work closely with managers to provide expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, absence management, recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning, whilst ensuring policies, procedures and employment legislation are applied consistently and effectively.
Working collaboratively with the wider People team, you'll also help drive employee engagement, support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to delivering Macphie's People Plan.
We're looking for someone who is passionate about people, enjoys working collaboratively and is confident building relationships across all levels of the business.
Ideally you'll have:
- CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience.
- Previous experience in a generalist HR role with responsibility for employee relations case management.
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Experience leading, coaching and developing a small HR team.
- Excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills.
- The ability to build strong working relationships and confidently support managers with people-related matters.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands and work to deadlines.
- Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office.
- A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel to other Macphie sites as required.
