Software Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our growing technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions that support our business operations and client requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative applications using modern software development practices.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications and system components.
Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into functional software solutions.
Develop clean, efficient, and maintainable code following industry best practices.
Participate in system architecture, technical design, and code reviews.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues.
Integrate software with databases, APIs, and third-party services.
Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing.
Maintain technical documentation, including system specifications and development procedures.
Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and other developers to deliver projects on schedule.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, performance optimisation, and security enhancements.
Monitor application performance and implement improvements to enhance reliability and scalability.
Ensure compliance with organisational coding standards, cybersecurity policies, and quality assurance procedures.
Essential Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.
Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or .NET.
Experience with web application development using modern frameworks.
Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
Experience working with RESTful APIs and web services.
Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Skills
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or containerised deployments.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
Understanding of DevOps practices.
Experience with automated testing frameworks.
Knowledge of microservices architecture.
