Senior UX Designer

They combine human insight, systems thinking and craft to create intuitive, elegant experiences that feel seamless at every touchpoint.</p> <p>As a Senior User Experience Designer, you will play a critical role in shaping end-to-end digital experiences , from early concept through to delivery. You will define the structure, logic and flow behind products and platforms, ensuring they are simple, coherent and meaningful for users.</p> <p>Working within an embedded client team, you will help design experiences that support global platforms and product storytelling,&nbsp; balancing user needs, business goals and technical constraints with precision and care.</p> <p>This role is with AKQA, embedded within a client team, and requires onsite collaboration in the client studio three days per week.</p> <p>This is a 6–9 month fixed-term contract, offered on a hybrid basis.</p> <p>ROLE REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Lead the design of intuitive, scalable user experiences across web and digital platforms<br><br></li> <li>Translate complex requirements into clear user journeys, flows, information architecture and interaction models<br><br></li> <li>Define and evolve experience frameworks and systems that work consistently across multiple touchpoints<br><br></li> <li>Apply user-centred design principles, grounding decisions in research, insight and data<br><br></li> <li>Plan and conduct user research and usability testing, synthesising findings into actionable design improvements<br><br></li> <li>Collaborate closely with designers, writers, technologists and product teams to bring ideas to life<br><br></li> <li>Prototype and iterate quickly, refining solutions through testing and feedback<br><br></li> <li>Present work with clarity and confidence, articulating the rationale behind decisions<br><br></li> <li>Contribute to the overall experience vision, ensuring alignment across wider workstreams</li> </ul> <p>QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS</p> <ul> <li>Significant experience in user experience design, ideally within an agency or product environment<br><br></li> <li>A portfolio demonstrating thoughtful, well-crafted UX across complex digital products or platforms<br><br></li> <li>Strong understanding of user-centred design, service design and interaction design principles<br><br></li> <li>Experience designing end-to-end journeys, from concept through to delivery<br><br></li> <li>Ability to simplify complex systems into clear, elegant solutions<br><br></li> <li>Proficiency in modern UX and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma and related platforms)<br><br></li> <li>Experience working within multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments<br><br></li> <li>Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence both peers and senior stakeholders<br><br></li> </ul> <ul> <li>A systems thinker, able to see both the detail and the bigger picture<br><br></li> <li>Deeply curious about human behaviour and driven to create meaningful experiences<br><br></li> <li>Calm, focused and highly organised, even in complex environments<br><br></li> <li>Strong sense of ownership and accountability for the quality of the work<br><br></li> <li>Collaborative and open, with a desire to elevate both the work and the team<br><br></li> <li>Relentless attention to detail and a drive to refine and improve<br><br></li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span style="font-weight: 300;">We believe great work happens when we're together, fostering creativity, collaboration, and connection.
