You’ll drive advanced sensing, communication, SOC/MCU integration, and embedded power, crafting miniaturized PCBs for top performance and reliability. This hands-on role spans concept to mass production: electrical design, integration, lab prototyping, field testing, and vendor collaboration. We seek a brilliant, motivated engineer to join TEAM HEADBORNE, delivering mission-based, safe AI solutions.</p> <h3 data-start="817" data-end="835"><strong data-start="821" data-end="833">Responsibilities</strong></h3> <ul data-start="1236" data-end="1680"> <li data-start="1236" data-end="1348"> <p data-start="1238" data-end="1348">Develop end-to-end PCBs for HEADBORNE’s AI-enabled AR headsets, supporting first responders and defense forces.</p> </li> <li data-start="1236" data-end="1348"> <p data-start="1238" data-end="1348">Define requirements, and work cross-functionally with the other team members.</p> </li> <li data-start="1236" data-end="1348"> <p data-start="1238" data-end="1348">Design schematics, select components, create miniaturized/flex PCB layouts.</p> </li> <li data-start="1236" data-end="1348"> <p data-start="1238" data-end="1348">Manage system startup, testing, troubleshooting, and integration, ensuring requirements are met, including EMI/EMC and defense standards.</p> </li> <li data-start="1236" data-end="1348"> <p data-start="1238" data-end="1348">Conduct root cause analysis for field operations.</p> </li> <li data-start="1236" data-end="1348"> <p data-start="1238" data-end="1348">Support manufacturing through design, DfM, DfX, quality, and failure analysis.</p> </li> </ul> <hr data-start="1682" data-end="1685"> <h3 data-start="1687" data-end="1720"><strong data-start="1691" data-end="1718">Required Qualifications</strong></h3> <ul data-start="1721" data-end="2323"> <li data-start="1721" data-end="1799"> <p data-start="1723" data-end="1799">A Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering&nbsp;</p> </li> <li data-start="1800" data-end="1899"> <p data-start="1802" data-end="1899">10–20 years of experience in designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs</p> </li> <li data-start="1900" data-end="1967"> <p data-start="1902" data-end="1967">Experience with Cadence<span class="Apple-converted-space"> OrCAD (preferred), </span>Altium, PADS,<span class="Apple-converted-space"> or KiCad</span></p> </li> <li data-start="2003" data-end="2047"> <p data-start="2005" data-end="2047">Experienced with FPGA<span class="Apple-converted-space"> devices and technologies</span></p> </li> <li data-start="2003" data-end="2047"> <p data-start="2005" data-end="2047"><span class="Apple-converted-space">Proficiency in both German and English</span></p> </li> <li data-start="2003" data-end="2047">Right to work in Germany, without sponsorship</li> <li data-start="2212" data-end="2323"> <p data-start="2214" data-end="2323">Eligibility for German security clearances</p> </li> </ul> <h3 data-start="1687" data-end="1720"><strong data-start="1691" data-end="1718">Preferred Qualifications</strong></h3> <p>Familiarity with automotive or aeronautical engineering from past experience</p> <h3 data-start="817" data-end="835"><strong data-start="821" data-end="833">Location</strong></h3> <p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">This in-person role is based in Jena, Germany.
