Belong Chester is seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and inspiring Registered Support Manager to join our leadership team. Working closely with the General Manager and wider operational team, you will play a key role in ensuring our residents receive the highest standards of person-centred care, support, and wellbeing.

As Registered Support Manager, you will lead and inspire a dedicated team of nursing, care and support colleagues, ensuring they have the skills, confidence and support required to deliver outstanding care. Through coaching, mentoring and professional development, you will help colleagues reach their full potential while creating an environment where residents flourish.
You will be a visible and positive role model, leading by example and championing Belong's values throughout the Village, the wider organisation and the local community.
Purpose of the Role
As Registered Support Manager, you will provide effective leadership and operational management across the care village. You will be responsible for ensuring all residents receive high-quality, person-centred support that reflects their individual needs, wishes and aspirations.
As the CQC Registered Manager, you will ensure the service consistently meets regulatory requirements and maintains the highest standards of care, safety and quality.
You will also play an integral role within the Village Management Team, contributing to the strategic development and ongoing success of the service while deputising for the General Manager when required.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
- Provide leadership, management, coaching and support to nursing and support teams, ensuring colleagues possess the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to meet residents' needs.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and supportive culture where colleagues feel valued, empowered and motivated.
- Act as a visible role model for excellent person-centred practice, promoting Belong's values and standards at all times.
- Lead, motivate and develop colleagues, creating a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
- Participate as a member of the Village Management Team and provide out-of-hours support and guidance when required.
- Deputise for the General Manager as necessary.
Resident Care and Support
- Ensure all residents receive the care, support and lifestyle opportunities identified within their Life Plans.
- Ensure residents' needs are regularly assessed, agreed, reviewed and updated in partnership with residents, families, advocates, nursing colleagues and external professionals.
- Lead the development and continuous review of services to meet residents' changing needs and aspirations.
- Ensure residents are supported to make choices that enhance their independence, wellbeing and quality of life.
- Promote and maintain the Customer Journey to ensure an exceptional experience for every resident and family member.
- Actively encourage and respond to customer feedback to drive service improvement.
Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Fulfil the responsibilities of the Registered Manager in accordance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements.
- Ensure services operate in compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, service contracts, Belong policies and procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate service quality through audits, inspections and performance reviews.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with CQC standards and organisational requirements.
- Provide commissioners and regulatory bodies with information and reports as required.
Risk Management, Safeguarding and Clinical Governance
- Ensure health-related risk assessments are completed, reviewed and implemented appropriately.
- Oversee medication management systems, ensuring they are effectively monitored, audited and compliant with legislation and best practice.
- Support best practice in relation to medication, risk management and person-centred care.
- Lead investigations into complaints, incidents and concerns, ensuring lessons are learned and improvements implemented.
- Ensure safeguarding concerns are managed promptly and effectively in accordance with Belong's Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Policy.
- Promote and maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for residents, families, visitors and colleagues.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and support others to do the same.
People Development
- Recruit, coach, support and develop colleagues to achieve their full potential.
- Conduct probationary reviews, supervision sessions, performance reviews and development planning.
- Assess, plan and evaluate learning and development needs across support and nursing teams.
- Mentor and support new colleagues and those undertaking professional development opportunities.
- Create opportunities for colleagues to grow their skills, confidence and careers within Belong.
Resource and Financial Management
- Manage household expenditure within agreed budgets.
- Ensure effective deployment of nursing and support colleagues to maintain safe staffing levels and meet residents' needs.
- Manage staffing resources and rotas efficiently, ensuring an appropriate skill mix at all times.
Partnership Working
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with residents, families, advocates, colleagues, healthcare professionals, commissioners and visitors.
- Participate fully in multidisciplinary and multi-agency meetings to support the delivery of outstanding care and support.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager or senior leader within a regulated care environment.
- Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations, quality standards and compliance requirements.
- A proven track record of delivering high-quality, person-centred care services.
- Experience of managing budgets and staffing resources effectively.
- Excellent leadership, coaching and people development skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- A positive, proactive and adaptable approach.
- A genuine passion for supporting older people to live fulfilling lives.
