Events Marketing Lead (London)
About Legal 500
Legal 500 is a global legal market research, data and intelligence business. Our research helps corporate clients make informed decisions about legal representation and gives law firms insight into their market position, performance, and clients.
Beyond research, we’re building a growing data, benchmarking, market-intelligence and subscription service offering. We bring the legal market together through a global programme of events - awards ceremonies, conferences and roundtables that convene leading law firms, in-house teams and their advisers. And through Legal Business, our journalistic title, we deliver independent news, analysis and commentary on the business of law and the strategy, performance and leadership of the world’s leading law firms.
We are a growing, multi-site organisation, with colleagues working across research, data, technology, product, journalism, commercial and events in London, Leeds and Bristol.
What you'll be doing:
This is a brand new role within Legal 500 and we see our new Events Marketing Lead as being responsible for leading the marketing strategy for our global portfolio of events.
We see the core accountabilities for this role as driving audience growth, including the expansion and engagement of Legal 500's General Counsel and senior in-house counsel communities. You'll also help drive growth in summit delegate registrations, awards participation and customer engagement across the events portfolio.
In addition, you'll lead/manage our Delegate Acquisition and Events Media functions, helping to ensure alignment across all marketing and acquisition activities.
Ultimately, this role is about ensuring consistency and integrity in our event marketing, digital platforms, community engagement and customer touchpoints. It is about ensuring audiences have a seamless and engaging experience from event discovery through to registration, attendance and ongoing community engagement
What we're looking for:
Experience leading a marketing function in a B2B Events business, ideally one that caters to Corporate or Professional Services markets (Legal, Finance, Technology or comparable)
Ability to develop and deliver marketing strategies that drive audience growth with a strong understanding of audience acquisition, segmentation and customer engagement
Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate high-performing teams - in particular, we're looking for experience in managing managers
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions (particularly Group Marketing, CRM, Data and the wider Events function)
Comfort in ambiguity, Legal 500 is in a state of change and modernisation - there is huge scope to make an impact fast, but we can't promise the journey there will be linear!
Commercial mindset - experience supporting revenue growth through audience development and lead generation
Experience with CRM systems, marketing technology and event platforms
Understanding of GDPR, data governance and digital customer journeys
Role Information:
Hybrid workplace - 3 days a week in office, 2 days remote
This role is based in London or Bristol
We are looking for someone to spend 1 day per week in each of our London or Bristol offices
Marketing within B2B Events aimed at corporate audiences is essential for this role
