Reset Health are looking for a Development Team Lead to guide our new Live Platforms development team, balancing hands-on technical delivery with day-to-day scrum master duties.

You'll split your time between writing code alongside the team and running the agile ceremonies that keep the team delivering predictably — planning, refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives — while acting as a first point of contact for technical guidance and mentorship.

Our Live Platforms team is our development ‘fast lane’ making production releases at the end of each two-week sprint. The team are responsible for

  • Setting up new customers with any agreed customisations.
  • A pipeline of customer-driven enhancements.
  • Priority bug fixes and security patches.
  • 2nd line technical support (dedicated support engineer part of the team)

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Scrum master for the live platforms team facilitating agile ceremonies and coaching the team in agile best-practice.
  • Close collaboration with our Product team and Client Programme Lead to groom the backlog and plan each production update.
  • Report on sprint progress, velocity, and delivery risk to engineering leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in designing and personally develop new platform capabilities requested by current customers. This will involve hands-on development in our React Native front end, Kotlin backend or both.
  • Apply AI tools responsibly to deliver productivity benefits while maintaining full oversight.
  • Champion strong technical standards and best-practise software engineering: code reviews, unit testing, CI/CD, secure software development.
  • Take ownership of the Live Platform which comes with the right to challenge any code/change contributed by other teams that does not meet a Quality Standard you will be pivotal in agreeing.
  • Support the recruitment and training of engineers as we grow the team.
  • Manage 2nd line support for technical issues as per the Global support Standard Operating Procedure.
  • As we grow, help plan out how we’ll evolve the Live Platforms to support our deployments in other timezones.

The successful candidate will demonstrate

  • Strong problem-solving techniques and sound technical judgement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and facilitation skills.
  • A good understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile delivery.
  • A strong drive to continue learning and improving, both personally and within the team.
  • A great work ethic, and above all, enthusiasm and a desire to do well.

Essential

  • Several years' commercial experience as a developer, including some experience leading, mentoring, or informally guiding other engineers. Degree in Computer Science/STEM, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience as a senior/lead developer, with strong hands-on skills in one of (i) React Web (ii) Java
  • Strong experience with databases, ideally Mongo (otherwise a RDBMS)
  • Experience acting as a Scrum Master or running scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Experience managing a team's backlog and sprints in Jira, including estimation and reporting on velocity.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines, and championing best practice code review.
  • Experience developing unit tests and promoting a strong testing culture within a team.
  • Experience integrating with RESTful APIs.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable reporting progress and risk to leadership.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching developers, including conducting 1:1s and giving structured feedback.

Desirable

  • Proven experience as a senior/lead developer, with strong hands-on skills in (i) React Native (ii) Kotlin
  • A recognised Scrum Master certification (e.g. CSM, PSM).
  • Experience working with distributed or remote teams across time zones.
  • Exposure to regulated software development in healthcare, especially international standards such as ISO9001, ISO27001 and ISO13485.
  • Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards.
  • AWS certification(s).
  • An interest in health tech and improving patient outcomes through software.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary of up to £75,000 per annum, depending on experience
  • Opportunities to build skills and progress within a growing digital health organisation
  • Private medical insurance
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Enhanced sick leave
  • Pension scheme

To apply, please send your CV along with a short note explaining how you meet the requirements and why you would like to join Reset Health. Interviews will be held on a rolling basis.
