Bid Lead
Location flexible - Auckland, Sydney, or Melbourne
Jasmax is looking for a Bid Lead who wants to play closer to the front of the action: shaping pursuit strategy, challenging assumptions, and helping senior teams win the work that defines our next chapter across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. Based in Auckland, Sydney or Melbourne, you’ll bring clear judgement, pace and sharp commercial instinct to complex opportunities across architecture, interiors, landscape and urban design, turning great thinking into bids that cut through.
About Jasmax:
Jasmax is a multi-award-winning architecture and design practice with studios across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. With more than 250 people, we bring together architecture, interior design, urban design and landscape architecture to deliver integrated, design-led responses to complex challenges. Our work is grounded in the connections between culture, nature and design, from city-shaping infrastructure to local community spaces that enrich the places people live, work and gather.
The Role:
Own the strategic thinking behind Jasmax's most significant pursuits and help drive the next chapter of our growth across Australasia. You'll work closely with senior leaders to shape win strategy, bring sharp commercial judgement to pricing, risk and positioning decisions, and lead the bid process that turns that thinking into a compelling submission.
You'll bring a strong, well-informed point of view to every conversation. Communicating it tactfully, backing it with confidence under pressure, and staying genuinely open to what others bring to the table. This is a role within a wider strategic team, measured on its impact on Jasmax's growth ambition.
In this role, you will:
- Work with Principals to strategically position Jasmax for significant projects, leading the upfront strategy and end-to-end bid process.
- Lead the development of win themes that shape our business development activity and carry through into every submission, tailored to each client and what sets Jasmax apart.
- Bring an independent, critical eye to pricing, risk and commercial assumptions.
- Keep teams focused, coordinated and on track to meet critical deadlines, from planning through to submission.
- Partner with technical teams and stakeholders to produce engaging, client-focused content, aligned to the Jasmax brand and values.
- Take part in client debriefs, sharing insights that sharpen how we bid, price and position ourselves.
- Support the Head of Business Development with wider BD initiatives as directed, contributing to Jasmax's growth ambition alongside your bid work.
Attributes, Skills and Experience:
- 7 years+ relevant work experience in a similar bid role within a multi-disciplinary professional services organisation.
- A track record of leading complex, high-value bids end-to-end, from early strategy and positioning through to writing and production.
- A highly collaborative style, with confidence engaging stakeholders across all levels of the practice.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with sharp attention to detail and the ability to craft clear, persuasive content.
- Resilience, flexibility and agility, with strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capability.
Why Jasmax?
Our workplace culture reflects the values of our Manifesto; we celebrate bravery, honesty, thoughtfulness, the unity that arises from diversity and respect for people and place. When you join Jasmax, you will receive Te Hau Ora or The Breath of Life, a koauau symbolising the value of your individual contribution to our collective endeavour.

- A flexible work environment, including flexible start and finish times, one-day working from home, extended parental leave, and personalised return-to-work plan.
- A title framework that promotes internal progression and recognition.
- A diverse and inclusive culture. jasmax is an equal opportunity employer and proud Gold Supporter of the Pride Pledge.
How to apply:
If you are a confident bid professional who enjoys shaping strategy, bringing people together and creating compelling submissions, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your CV and cover letter through the application process.
Applications close on Thursday 20 August. We may review and progress applications before this date.
Only applicants with the right to work in New Zealand or Australia will be considered.
